What is your role at Maison Moderne?
Arriving as Boost Director tasked with helping the group to grow, my first task involved the development and organisation of the communication agency which I now head. The agency helps companies define and deploy an ambitious and innovative brand communication strategy. We start with a strategic diagnosis, drilling right down into the DNA of the company and the brand to identify priority communication actions. We then provide support for these, on the basis of Maison Moderne’s know-how and the operational excellence of our in-house studio.
What do you like most about your job?
Lots of things! Meeting with Luxembourg or international companies, discussing a brand’s values and direction, story-telling to bring these out, the inherent creativity of what we do, the sense of competition within a team of talented employees and the satisfaction of watching a new communication operation see the light of day... And, last but not least, the pleasure of picking up awards in international competitions.
What was your dream job when you were a child?
Explorer, photographer, writer, like Alexandra David-Neel, who managed to travel alone all the way to Tibet under the guise of a man.
The passion that drives you?
Being enthusiastic! A little easy to write, but ultimately, that is what drives me: passion and projects.
What would you tell your friends to make them visit Luxembourg?
Here’s what I write to them: Because we are here / because nature is everywhere / contemporary art is booming / because the city, listed as UNESCO world heritage, is being enriched with brave new modern architecture / because the country is integrated around the Europe of the Chinese and the Japanese / because we have discovered restaurants we’d like to have you discover, and finally because we are happy and would like to share that with you.
Your favourite restaurant out of the 250 listed in Explorator?
Impossible to make a choice among the restaurants in or near Clause where I live: Kamakura for the refinement of its cuisine, Um Plateau for the décor and its terrace with the magnificent view, Ukulele for its ultra-spicy dishes and Podenco for its authenticity.
