Julie Lhardit
Head of Programming

What is your role at Maison Moderne?

I’m Head of Programming, i.e. I’m in charge of programming Club events. The work involves the planning for the year, the definition of the subjects to be treated and the live events, the selection of speakers and supporting them in defining their storytelling and the communication strategy to be applied. In a nutshell, there’s never a boring minute!

What do you like most about your job?

Above all, the balance between the intellectual, strategic and operational dimensions of my work. But also the variety of subjects covered in the context of the Club events and training courses, all of which means I have to keep abreast of what’s happening in the business and academic world and in politics. And last but not least, the claim to be able to take part in establishing a community of private players whom we are supporting through training, inspiration and networking.

What was your dream job when you were a child?

Working was never really part of my dreams as a child.

    The passion that drives you?

I am in love with the Arab world and its cultural and political complexity. After living in Lebanon in connection with my studies, I took a course in international relations to nourish this inclination. I am trying to become proficient in the language now, which is no small matter. Ahlan w sahlan ! Kell chi mni7 ? Fiyyé se3dak be chi?

What would you tell to your friends to make them visit Luxembourg?

I would say to them “eng Piss ouni Fuerz ass ewéi eng Kaap ouni Stuerz” (a proverb displaying Luxembourg authenticity). Or on a simpler note “come in August for the Schuberfouer!”
