Head of Programming - Paperjam Club
What is your role at Maison Moderne?
I'm project manager for the Paperjam Club. In concrete terms, this means I spend lots of time arranging Club activities. Who will be speaking? When? About what? Another chunk of my time is spent editing and preparing our various communication media: the ClubLetter, the website, Paperjam… Finally, I also work on improving the services offered to the members, as well as how the Club functions internally. I want to be able to always offer something more, something better... As Buzz Lightyear said: “To infinity... and beyond!”
What do you like most about your job?
The variety! I have to be interested in everything: business, politics, technology, finance, strategy, human resources, innovation, etc.
What was your dream job when you were a child?
Oulah… In this (dis)order: baker, fireman, carpenter, doctor, shepherd, writer, cook... Nothing lasted long, I was always changing my mind.
The passion that drives you?
What’s my passion? A complicated question.
To be serious, I would say I'm wary of a “passion”... it can become dangerous... ;-) I prefer to speak of a “centre of interest”.
When speaking about work, I would say “transmission”, in the sense of getting ideas to circulate and exchanging views with all those who want to discuss something.
In a lighter and more personal vein, food, culture (books, films...) and above all my family have top priority.
What would you tell your friends to make them visit Luxembourg?
“Come on over, I'll give you a guided tour... What do you want to eat?”
Your favourite restaurant out of the 250 listed in Explorator?
Mmmmm… If I had to choose, I would go for Le Cèdre, in Esch-sur-Alzette. That's the town I live in. I've discovered that they do a great Lebanese Taboulé. And believe me, it's not like anything you'll find on a supermarket shelf. It's a small parsley salad, very light, with just a touch of semolina. And if there are several of you, take the taster menu!
But there are others as well... When I want Chinese food, I go to the Couronne Royale. For Italian food, you'll find me at La Farinella. For seafood or a carpaccio, I go to the Brasserie Guillaume... In short, it's impossible to single down my choice.
